Before the Industrial Revolution, Earth’s ecological systems functioned in symbiosis. As the western world’s consumption habits have since escalated, so have pollution and climate change. The assumption that technology will yield a brighter future has permitted capitalist production to reach an unsustainable, alarming rate at the expense of the planet. Remind Me of My Humanity features prints, photographs, and paintings that meditate on our role in the environment. This exhibition poses a thorny question: is humanity capable of change?
